Prince Harry says he wants to reconcile but King Charles won’t speak to him

مايو 02, 2025

Prince Harry has publicly expressed his wish to mend familial ties, particularly with his father, King Charles III. However, he notes that communication remains strained due to disagreements over security provisions.

In a recent BBC interview, Harry shared his concerns about returning to the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, citing safety issues. He emphasized the emotional toll of the situation, stating, "Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has. He won't speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile."

This interview followed a legal decision where Harry's appeal to reinstate full police protection during UK visits was denied. The court upheld the government's stance that, having stepped back from royal duties in 2020, Harry is not entitled to automatic security.

Harry criticized the ruling, describing it as a "good old-fashioned establishment stitch-up" and suggested that the Royal Household had undue influence over the decision. He believes the security issue is being used as leverage and called on his father to facilitate a resolution by allowing experts to handle the matter independently.

Buckingham Palace responded by highlighting that the courts have thoroughly examined the issues, consistently reaching the same conclusions. They emphasized that decisions regarding security are made by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC), not unilaterally by the monarch.

The ongoing dispute underscores the complexities of Prince Harry's relationship with the royal family, marked by legal battles and personal grievances. Despite the challenges, Harry remains hopeful for reconciliation, especially in light of his father's health concerns.
